Bipolar Disorder Patient
A young, single working mom with the diagnosis of bi-polar disorder was court ordered to be compliant with taking her medications or risk going to jail and losing custody of her son. The medication she needed was not affordable to her, so she was referred to PDAN. On her first visit, she stated “clearly I want to be compliant with talking my medications, but I can’t afford them”. PDAN was able to help her access her medicines for free and thus enable her to continue working, maintain custody of her child and stay out of the jail system.
