Patient is a young man in his mid-20’s with a seizure disorder. He wasn’t able to hold a job due to his seizures and had numerous emergency hospitalizations over a two year period. He was not taking his seizure medicine consistently secondary to not having the money to pay for it.
He was referred to Spokane Prescription Assistance (SPAN) for prescription assistance. One year later, he is working fulltime and has employer sponsored insurance. Patient A no longer needs assistance from SPAN, but we stay in touch with him through the follow up phone calls completed for the SPAN research registry. He credits SPAN for filling the gap and helping him get his life back on track.
